What this site collects

I run this site. It is a set of static pages: writing, free courses, a career history and a contact page. There is nothing to sign up for, so this page is short.

What I collect

Anonymous page-view statistics, through Google Analytics 4. It records the page you looked at, the referrer that sent you, and the coarse details your browser hands to any server it talks to: rough region, device type, browser. I read those numbers to see which articles and lessons people finish. I do nothing else with them.

I turned the advertising signals off rather than leaving them at their defaults. Before any measurement call fires, the script denies ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization through Google Consent Mode. I run no ads and hold no remarketing audience, so there is nothing those signals could be for. Local development builds never load analytics at all.

What I do not collect

  • No accounts. There is nothing to register for, the courses included.
  • No forms. The contact page has none by design; every channel on it links to my inbox or to a profile elsewhere, so this site never receives or stores a word you type.
  • No newsletter and no mailing list, so I hold no email addresses.
  • No advertising, no remarketing, no cross-site tracking. I sell nothing and share nothing.
  • No third-party fonts, embeds or widgets. The typefaces come from this domain, so opening a page does not announce your visit to a font host.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets its own first-party cookies so a returning visit counts as one visitor and not two. Nothing else here sets a cookie, and no cookie holds anything you typed or anything that names you. Tracking protection, an ad blocker or Do Not Track will stop the analytics script loading, and the site behaves the same without it.

Hosting and logs

Netlify hosts the site, and like any web host it keeps server request logs: IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent. Netlify holds those under its own terms, for delivery and abuse prevention. I never touch them.

Links off the site

Pages here link out to GitHub, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Instagram, and to projects and articles elsewhere. Follow one and you are on someone else's site under someone else's policy. Nothing on this page applies there.

Write to gorgekara@gmail.com and the message sits in my inbox like any other. I read it, I reply to it, I add it to no list and I pass it to no one. Ask me to delete a thread and I will.

Your rights, and how to use them

With no account, form or mailing list, there is usually no personal data here to access, correct or erase. If you think there is, a message you sent or an analytics record you want excluded, write to gorgekara@gmail.com and I will sort it out. The GDPR and comparable laws give you the right to ask what is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. Asking should take one email.

Changes

If what I collect changes, I update this page and move the date at the top. This version is dated .
